Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

At Wesfarmers Chemicals Energy & Fertilisers, we aim to promote the school study of STEM subjects to girls and boys in order to progress the prosperity of Western Australians and to positively impact gender equality by normalising STEM careers for women.

Why does STEM matter to WesCEF?

  • STEM skills have been identified as increasingly important for the competitiveness and future prosperity of Australia.
  • We believe that promoting STEM employment pipelines to women will improve gender equality.
  • STEM capability is a key employment issue for WesCEF as we employ engineering and science professionals and paraprofessionals and tradespeople.

WesCEF is committed to supporting STEM education and developing STEM capability within the community in which we operate.  In 2016, we formed a partnership with the Kwinana Industries Council with the aim to increase STEM capability in schools within the Kwinana/Rockingham area.
