Health, Safety & Environment Careers

The Health, Safety and Environment team advises and supports the business to develop and maintain systems to ensure the health and safety of our employees and to meet environmental obligations. 

The team works across various offices, depots, manufacturing plants and production facilities, and provide advice and expertise in the following areas:

  • Occupational health and safety
  • Process safety and emergency management
  • Environment management
  • Technical and safety training
  • Quality assurance and business improvement

The following are examples of two key roles in the Health, Safety and Environment team at WesCEF.

Health & Safety Advisor

Our Health and Safety Advisors recommend and implement health and safety strategies and initiatives to ensure a proactive safety culture. 

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will:

  • Coach employees to use health and safety systems such as inspections and audits, Take 5 and Permit to Work.
  • Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive occupational health and safety plans in conjunction with the business.
  • Ensure reporting and investigation of all incidents, and implementation of actions to prevent any re-occurrence.

We seek people who have:

  • Experience within the chemicals, manufacturing, mining, processing industry or equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and safety.
  • A previous exposure to behavioural-based safety systems is highly desirable.

Environmental Advisor

Our Environmental Advisors supports the businesses to achieve environmental goals and objectives through:

  • Implementing, co-ordinating and maintaining environmental management systems and programs to ensure statutory requirements are met, risks are minimised and continual improvement is achieved.
  • Monitoring and communicating changes to relevant legislation, regulations and Codes of Practices and advising business impacts.
  • Reviewing environmental performance against set targets and objectives.

We seek people who have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in an environmental discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience within a heavy industry or resources environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislative requirements.
  • Sound influencing skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
