A typical day consists of providing guidance and assistance to the various business units I support to aid them in meeting their obligations for legislative compliance with regards to process safety and Dangerous Goods management. My role affords me the opportunity to interact with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organisation as well as government regulators.
What opportunities have you taken in your time here?
I have had the opportunity to participate in a number of industry training and conference events as well as attaining qualifications in lead and management system auditing. In addition to this I have also completed a fantastic internal leadership program.
What do you believe has been instrumental to your success at WesCEF?
Instrumental to my success at WesCEF has been the opportunity to work with an incredibly skilled, knowledgeable and supportive team. All those I work with have always been willing to share their knowledge and experience to help me progress in my role.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Providing safety compliance support across all the business units in each of the regulatory jurisdictions has helped me in developing a well-rounded approach to the management of process safety and Dangerous Goods across number of facilities located across Australia. In addition to this, the ability to provide assistance to and learn from such varied industries has ensured that my role remains challenging and engaging.
What are the most challenging projects or issues you have worked on?
I have represented WesCEF in a number of industry and regulatory forums each presenting their own unique challenges. The skills I have learned in my time with WesCEF, specifically acting professionally and with integrity, have served me well in these interactions.
How would you describe the support you get from your manager?
The support I receive from my manager has been fantastic. My manager has always taken a keen interest in my progress to ensure that not only do I feel challenged, but also rewarded for the work I am doing. The open and friendly communication style that is prevalent in WesCEF in conjunction with the personal development review process gives me the opportunity to develop my objectives and growth opportunities for the future.
